New Visitor Restrictions

Australian prime minister Scott Morrison announced further restrictions on Sunday, including limiting public gatherings to two people and asking those over 70 years of age to self-isolate as much as possible. Considering this most recent development we have made the tough decision to further restrict our visitation hours to ensure the safety of our residents and staff. New Visiting Restrictions

  • Only one family member/social support may visit per day for a maximum of one hour, between the hours of 9am and 12pm Monday-Saturday.

  • The visitor must be immediate family or social support.

  • The visitor must be a resident of the local region including Rockhampton Region, Gracemere, and Capricorn Coast.

  • Any other family members travelling within the State to visit are asked to call ahead and make arrangements. We understand everyone’s situation is different and will work with you to find a solution, but if you fail to call ahead you will not be permitted onsite.

At the present time there have been no confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases, this is why we have made the decision to only allow local visitors into the community. Until such time that there is a locally transmitted case, we will continue to allow one visitor per day for our resident’s mental health and quality of life. We understand these are incredibly trying times and some other local Aged Care Facilities have closed their doors to visitors, but we feel with our stringent infection control measures and comprehensive visitor screening we can still ensure our community is safe while allowing our residents to see their loved ones. The team at Benevolent Living thank all family members for their continued understanding and cooperation, our first priority is that of our resident and staff safety and will continue to monitor the situation closely.
