Artists: Ariella Anderson, Belynda Waugh, Gail Meyer, Nellie Lovegrove, Veronika Zeil & Yvonne Moloney-Law.
Stretching along the tropic line at 23.26ºS, Central Queensland is dominated by the vast Fitzroy Basin draining into Keppel Bay via the tidal Tunuba. This divergent landscape meets a shared consciousness in CQ Collective, our Long Gallery’s inaugural exhibition.
Central Queensland is part of who we are and the expression of what that means is explored in this group show. The exhibited works, by artists from across the region, constitute the founding base of our permanent collection.
Flora and Fauna, landforms, life cycles, memories and imagination are conjured in a variety of media and range of forms by contributing artists Ariella Anderson, Michelle Black, Derek Lamb, Niloufar (Nellie) Lovegrove, Anitha Menon, Gail Meyer, Yvonne Moloney-Law, Emma Ward, Belynda Waugh and Veronika Zeil.
Guided by values of integrity, honour, empathy, creativity and inclusivity, Benevolent Living’s innovative ‘Rhythms of Life’ model and new Long Gallery bring the arts and ageing together to create a vibrant, connected hub for all generations to embrace and enjoy.
