Emotional Climate

Artist: Lynn Cazabon

Emotional Climate is a site-specific, text-based, participatory artwork by American artist Lynn Cazabon that has at its centre short statements from a wide variety of Queenslanders expressing the emotions they are experiencing in response to climate change.

The project also includes two targeted community activations prompting creative responses to the topics raised by the project: with students at St. Mary's Catholic Primary School and residents at Benevolent Living.

Emotional Climate was made possible through a 2024 Fulbright Senior Scholar Award and with additional support from CQUniversity.

Crafted Response has been conceived as a support to Emotional Climate and is designed to harness the collective wisdom of Benevolent Living's resident cohort.

By drawing on the experiences of a generation raised in the shadow of the Great Depression and two world wars, perhaps we may gain some insights from the original champions of resourceful living.
