  • Clarify the list of symptoms that exclude a person from entering a facility

  • Clarify that you can apply for an exemption to visit someone who is near their end of life if you have been overseas or in a COVID-19 hotspot, with the permission of the operator of the facility.

The updated Aged Care Direction has also been amended to:

  • remove references to the border zone, consistent with recent changes to the Border Restrictions Direction

  • update the symptoms consistent with COVID-19 that prohibit entry to a residential aged care facility

  • prohibit entry to a residential aged care facility if a person has been tested for COVID-19 and has not received the test results

  • clarify that a person from a COVID-19 hotspot or an overseas arrival can enter a residential aged care facility for an end of life visit, with the permission of the operator of the facility, if they have been given an exemption to enter Queensland for an end of life visit under the Border Restrictions Direction or Self-quarantine for Persons Arriving in Queensland From Overseas Direction.
