Precautionary Lockdown

As the COVID-19 coronavirus situation evolves, we want to reassure you that we are implementing all possible measures prevent the spread of this new illness in our facility and to protect our residents, staff and the wider community.

There has been a confirmed case of a staff member at the North Rockhampton Nursing Centre, due to this case we have now decided to initiate precautionary lockdown of our facility to ensure the safety of every resident. This lockdown will be in effect from 12pm today and will last for at least the next two weeks to ensure we minimise the risk of community transmission. This is not a decision we have taken lightly, and we believe it is in the best interest of our residents.

If you believe you have had any contact with a staff member from this facility, or if you work at another facility including this one and have visited Benevolent Living in the last 14 days, please contact us immediately.

In the event of special circumstances or should there be any deterioration in your loved one’s condition or an end-of-life situation, we will make arrangements on a case-by-case basis. Please contact us to discuss arrangements in such circumstances.

Feel free to book in a time to phone your loved one, or Skype with them on one of our communal devices. Or, if they have an electronic device of their own that enables video calling capabilities, please keep in touch with them through their device. Should one of our staff members be required to assist them with the video call, we would be only too happy to help. Please contact us to coordinate this.

We thank you for your cooperation and support of our arrangements to protect our residents in light of the current health emergency. Together, we can help keep the people we love and care for, healthy and well.

If you have questions or concerns in relation to these temporary measures, please contact Jamie Langdon at 0400126653 or communications@benevolent.com.au
